How to charge your Vercise Genus™ rechargeable device.
The rechargeable Vercise Genus™ R16 Deep Brain Stimulation system should provide at least 25 years* battery life. This requires you to recharge your device. If you have been implanted with the non-rechargeable option (Vercise Genus™ P16) , you do not need to recharge of course, but you need a replacement surgery once the battery is depleted. The battery of the P16 device will last approx. 3.5 years.*
Charging your Vercise Genus™ system is a piece of cake - the charging system is simple and easy to use:
- Depending on where the stimulator has been implanted, you will be using a charging belt or charging collar to recharge your device
- The charging collar and belt are completely cordless, so you can enjoy full mobility while charging your device.
- You can decide when and where you charge your device.
Top tips for ensuring it works for you:
Choose a charging schedule that works for you: you can decide whether to have shorter, more frequent charging sessions or longer, less frequent charging sessions. Pick a routine that best fits into your daily lifestyle and don’t forget that you can easily charge while watching your favourite TV programme or reading the morning paper. An average charging session for once a week, generally takes, 30-60 minutes.
